My stay at Riu Palace Riviera Maya was a rollercoaster of emotions. The beautiful beauty and modern decor captivated me, but a shocking theft during my visit completely changed the experience. There were highlights, like friendly staff and decent facilities, but overall, my trip became a distressing ordeal due to the lack of management support after the incident.

The rooms are spacious but I struggled with the new bathroom layout where the shower is part of the main area, reducing privacy. The mattress was quite firm and I noticed a musty smell in the drawers. But I did love my balcony view and the daily stocked fridge.

I had an excellent vacation at Riu Palace Riviera Maya, where the atmosphere felt exclusive being in the Playacar area. The resort was freshly renovated, and despite being fully booked, the service was excellent. The food options were diverse, making dining at the hotel a pleasure, especially during the special New Year's celebrations. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and I can't wait to return.
